Creativity at creative company

After a long drawn management buy-out process, two directors became the sole proprietors of a large design agency for packaging and corporate communications. The brand new directors immediately set their goals much higher from being designers of pretty packaging and/or merely adding onto other people's ideas, to becoming a turn-key operation that would create entire new products and brands. In order to achieve this, their relatively large workforce, almost overnight, had to become creative, way beyond what was required hitherto. On top of that, they had to be able to win pitches from highly respected and well-established ad-agencies. After a few sessions with Blits the new leaders agreed to re-create their new/old company from a completely new approach. The role of the account manager became one of support rather than one of intermediary and the creatives acted as their own account manager. Contrary to popular believes, clients proved to be even more happy to pay for creativity if he/she could sit next to the creative while the main work was getting done. Especially the form of relationship that the Blits way of thinking propagated, lent itself brilliantly to the new breed of young and uncertain buyers that started to dominate the buyers market. These newly formed relationships also became the key for helping these buyers to sell their ideas -as well as themselves- inside their own companies! Once the management had a clear vision, training of the complete designers group became appropriate. Since most of the managers and employees of the agency were new at the games of sales and applied creativity, Blits could go full steam with them. And so he did. A highly effective change of creative mentality and perspectives took place very quickly and has continued throughout the last 3 years. During the intense 2-day sessions that had the biggest impact, personal growth was completely entangled with Total Creativity, Sales and Leadership. Also, many a product and idea was thought up by Blits during these intense but in the end highly enjoyable encounters. For the competition, there often was no known defence against relatively young people that, apart from their talents and skills, could see the entire picture and wouldn't shy away from the weaker sides of the client. The senior management that was often engaged in pitching processes, greatly benefitted from the 'Breaking the pitch' trainings of Blits. The company now wins - and often creates - the 'all-round' assignments that were way out of their league before. Nothing is impossible anymore. So amongst other things, they started successfully a second establishment in India.
