Culture

Culture is a concept so vague that it can mean everything and therefore nothing. Actually, we only talk about culture when we feel threatened. For example with a takeover or a merger and the subsequent changes associated with this. If the perceived advantages of the synergy are not forthcoming, ‘differences in culture’ are freely established as the reason for failure. Everyone can agree with this and no one feels anything is down to them personally.

For a real change of mentality, it’s vital for openness and trust in each other. But it is precisely these attributes that totally disappear during times of change. All sorts of whispers are heard in the corridors,  often very different to what was said during the group meetings. If you bring the Blits Group the repair of mutual trust is priority number one. The rest just needs refinement. This means, among other things, seeing the real truth. This isn’t always pleasant, because if you really start looking at reality, unexpected problems will show up. Dealing with this is not nice, but absolutely necessary if you want a true change of culture.
